DGE 6190  Richard “Rich” Brontoli

Richard F. Brontoli was born in New York City, New York. His father worked for oil companies, so he grew up in Indonesia, Somalia and upstate New York.

He received his BS degree in Civil Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute, Worcester, Massachusetts, and an MS degree from the University of Florida in Civil Engineering, Construction Management.

 He served 20 years in the US Army, as an Engineer Officer and retired in 1993.

His last assignment was four years as Deputy Commander for the St. Louis Engineer District. Prior assignments include Fort Carson, CO; Baumholder, Germany; El Salvador, Central America and Fort Knox, KY.

 From 1993 to 2023, Rich Brontoli has been the Executive Director for the Red River Valley Association in Shreveport-Bossier, Louisiana. This is a member supported, consulting organization to develop the water resources through civil works and agriculture projects throughout the four-state Red River region of Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma and Texas.

 He is on the Board of the NW Louisiana Square & Round Dance Association, who operate & maintain Promenade Hall. He also serves on the Board for the NW Louisiana Veterans Cemetery Foundation as the Volunteer Chair.

 He has been in Rotary since 1994 and was President of the Rotary Club of Shreveport, 2019-2020. He was chair for the Club’s Civic Grants Committee and served as a member of other committees. Service in District 6190 includes Chair for the Paul Harris Society Committee and Finance Chair. Other recognitions include; Service Above Self Award, Paul Harris Society member, Major Donor, Completed RLI Parts I, II & III, and Faculty/Facilitator Training.

 He and his wife Silvia have two children; Matthew and Lydia and four grandchild.

He currently resides in Bossier City, Louisiana, and attends St. Jude Catholic Church.
